Hi all
I've tried to install via the launcher many times and get the same message every time saying

"critical error
failed to install updates
the application cannot continue
for details, see log file"

NEVER had this before...no idea about log files either.

ALSO downloaded patch file via 8.3 update page. When i try to install it using the download it says
"patch is not appropriate to existing version. Installation impossible."

I have no idea what the hell is going on...HELP PLEASE!

Same error I got. Need help on this.

same here, had same error. deleted the downloaded patch and re-download the file still got the same error. i checked the logs but it was empty. already submitted a ticket. we will just have to wait and see what the tech people do about it.

download the patch separately not thru the launcher.. here's a link http://dl.wargaming....3_sea_patch.exe

Same error as OP. Downloaded through launcher. Trying manual dl.

You will have to re-download the game, and the install the patch again, try using the link for the patch that flowerhorn provided instead of the launcher guys!

Just re-downloaded the whole game hope this one will work. Have already tried flowerhorn's advise sadly it didn't work for me.

try launching the WorldOfTanks.exe from the main folder after you patched it

Thanks Skitz, thried downloading from site rather than launcher which is screwed. Thats what makes the second error. Deleting and re-installing...damn. Hope you're well mate. Thanks all for the advice.

I had this error with WoWP. After restarting my computer it fixed itself. No idea why though!

Try deleting the files in C:\Games\World_of_Tanks\Updates before trying again though, your install mustve been corrupted/derped.

I'll deleted all the files of wot and downloaded it again but thesame error i encountered..i try also manual install but does'nt work.i try to launched separate from the launcher but it does'nt work again..hopeless.

Well, Im happy to know Im not the only one having errors in installing 8.3
